Rainbow Valley Founders
The Wille Family
Frederick Wille was a hardy man, but Eastdelle was becoming a burden on him to live there. Rarely would he complain but the situation was worsening, with no end in sight. Disease was spreading through the city at an alarming rate. The year's harvest had been poor for him and his family. He had to support his elderly parents, both in the monetary sense and emotional after the death of his sister. After his sister died, Frederick found it even harder to reside in Eastdelle. She was always a bright and cheery soul, even through her illness. When she died, another bright spot in Frederick's life went out. On top of losing his sister, Frederick had to deal with the love of his life marrying another man. He understood that he couldn't give her what her new husband could, which was a residence in Westdelle, a richer district of the kingdom. Through these experiences, Frederick comes to the realization that Eastdelle holds no future for him, other than the inevitability of death. What started out as a inkling in a tavern grows into an effort larger than he ever could imagine. |
The Drayton Family and Morrys Foxe
Tobias Drayton was quite content with his life. He wasn't a farmer, as his father had sold the land to pay off several debts. Instead he was now employed as a bar tender at the local inn. He was happy with his lot in life, despite his father dying. His mother was strong and kind to him, despite how much he resembled his father. He was a newlywed with a beautiful wife. He watched his friend Frederick spiral into depression after the death of his sister and saw it was too much to bear. So he supported his friend's idea to move away, but had not planned to go with him until his wife stepped in. Alys Drayton was the middle child with two brothers. As a result her personality could be described as strong since she had to contend with two overbearing brothers. When she hears of Frederick's plan she immediately drags her new husband into the deal. Much more used to the countryside, as she was a farmer girl, she wanted to escape the closeness and disease of the city. She brings along her younger brother, Morrys |
The Whyte Family
Dane Whyte is a mystery man. No one knows his past, his present, but have an idea of his future after he invites himself to the Rainbow Valley trek. He introduces himself in the inn where Tobias works as Tobias and Frederick speak about their plans to move away. With the air of a practised talker he inserts himself into the conversation and joins their party. The others aren't sure what Dane brings to their little party, but he looks strong and somewhat reliable. The others figure they can trust him, for now. |
The Booker Family
Jeph Booker found himself in the Rainbow Valley group by coincidence. His usual tavern had been closed by a fire and he found himself at Tobias' place of work when he was discussing Frederick's plans. Jeph loved alcohol, and loved more after the death of his wife. He wasn't quite sure what happened the morning after he spoke with Frederick and Tobias but the next day he found himself being informed of the decisions he had made the previous night. A long story short, he had inserted himself into the group by drunkenly stumbling into the conversation. He wouldn't take no for an answer and roped himself into this adventure. What the problem was his children and those he lived with. His twins, Allister and Beatrix were not pleased at what their father had done. Allister didn't want to leave his mothers grave behind, and Beatrix had found solace in a upper class boy's arms and bed. Jeph was determined to leave though. His farm held the memory of his wife too much. |
The Wrenne Family
Maud Wrenne was a formidable women. She had survived through the birth of her three children and the death of her husband only a few years back. It was only recently that she had fallen on poor times and found herself moving in with her husband's old friend. Despite the gossip she knew would swirl about when she moved in with Jeph Booker, she felt it was the best idea at the time. He would, hopefully, provide a father figure to her son, and she a mother figure to his teen girl. He also gave her and her brood free room and board in exchange for meals and cleaning. But when she found out that he had inserted himself into a group's madcap plan to move out of Eastdelle she had no choice but to go along. She had no friends or family in Eastdelle and the sickness worried her as it crept closer and closer to those around her. |
The Griffin Family
Theodore found Frederick and Tobias talking in the inn that one night. He himself wasn't interested in leaving Eastdelle as he lived in the richer district, away from the diseased masses and had inhereited his father's trading business. But he was concerned for his younger brother who would have to move out of the family home for lack of space. Edward Griffin was unsure of his future. His older brother had inherited the family business and he couldn't live at home much longer without truly feeling like he and his family was imposing. His wife had just moved in, along with her best friend who lived with them when her father (a close business partner of their fathers) had died. Edward needed to make his own way in the world, without living in his brothers home. This is what spurred him to go along with Frederick and his group, as some attempt to make a name for himself. His contacts would hopefully be handy in establishing some community and commodity in Rainbow Valley. |
