Beatrix sniffed at her pot and smiled at the scent. Lilliane, hovering as she was, peered over her shoulder and dipped a spoon into the pot. When she tasted the concoction, she smiled in pride.
"You're doing much better," she said. Beatrix beamed at the compliment. "I need to see to my husband. He hurt himself a few days ago in the rain and needs me."
"Yes, Mistress Wille." Beatrix sat herself on a three legged stool with a bowlful of stew. The air still had a faint chill from the rain a few days ago, so Beatrix was grateful to be constantly warmed by the cooking fire.

After a few bites, Beatrix felt a rumble in her stomach, and a cold sweat overtook her. She shut her eyes, suddenly finding it very hard to breath. She dropped the bowl, unaware that some stew splashed on her skirt, before stumbling.
Beatrix only just made it to the privy before she threw up. When she was done, she tossed some dirt into the toilet hole before exiting the little outhouse. When she got back to the cooking pot, she sipped some water to rid herself of the taste in her mouth.
Beatrix had thrown up twice in the past few days and she wasn't quite sure what to make of it.
She could be ill. She had a small cough for the past week that was stubborn, and she was often getting headaches. The Drayton family was under the same circumstances. Matilda and Alys were often running to the privy, as told to Beatrix by Lilliane, and Tobias had a tough cough. Lilliane had given them a syrup she had Beatrix brew, which Beatrix had also sneaked some as well, though it was of little use if she threw up the syrup.

There was also the possibility that ... she was with child. It was something that make Beatrix feel cold and warm all over. On one hand, she hadn't bled in a month or two and, she had only ever slept with one man, and that was Philip. It made her feel warm when she thought of that moment, and the idea that she was carrying Philip's baby made her blush. If she was with child, then maybe she find her way to Philip. Then they could be together. Philip wouldn't abandon his child.
Yet, on the other hand... Pregnant? The idea of having a baby, something growing inside her, and then having a baby in a few months... The idea, the pain...
Beatrix's stomach rolled and she forced herself to keep her bile down.
Maybe she was pregnant. She placed her hand on her stomach, trying to feel herself with the layers of clothing under her hand. Her dress had been feeling a little tight recently, but everyone was starting to gain a little weight, thanks to the fresh air and good food. Maybe those pounds were something more.
